Affiliate Project

This month i have been lucky enough to aquire the domain name ku990.co.uk. The KU990 is the new touchscreen handset being released on all the major U.K. mobile networks including three. The handset is a breakthrough in technology with 3G, haptic feedback and a 5 Megapixel camera. With the very good domain, branding and a good relationship with the affiliate organisers I hope this project to be informative, fun and successful financially.

More Recognition

That's right, I've had a little more exposure from popular magazine .net. In Octobers issue myvenusflytrap.com was featured in their "readers websites" section with a 100 word caption:

"I came across Venus Flytraps after meeting an enthusiast in my area. As my collection grew so did my enthusiasm and it quickly became a hobby.
In looking for information surrounding my interest I quickly discovered that materials were poorly organised and no one website contained everything required. I decided to use my skills to develop a website which fulfilled my personal requirements: an easy-to-use, informative, attractive and accessible enthusiast website.
I built the site to W3C (XHTML and CSS 2.0) standards using Notepad for scripting and Photoshop for graphics. I Included text resize and print alternative stylesheets to aid accessibility."

Incidentally the site has proved a massive success, I receive around 10 emails per week requesting advice and we get hundreds of new unique visitors every month.

Work work work....and a little play

Things are pretty busy up in SWS HQ at the moment. What with local council grants which allow companies to get up to 50% off everybody is after a website at cost (if interested contact us). So I've been busy writing as fast as I can to get some good quality sites out of the door, many can be seen on the web portfolio.

Along with the normal business sites i've also been lucky enough to be fully involved with the official Bridgwater Carnival website. I was responsible for around 99% of design and a large chunk of the content. Overall I'm pretty happy, there were a few things which I feel could have looked better if I'd had all my own way, but I think it's a fantastic site and really positive thing for Bridgwater.

Finally I've also been involved in a new personal site myvenusflytrap.com. I started growing these beauties not long ago and have found it a really rewarding hobby (must stem back from little shop of horrors as a kid). I found that reference material regarding these species was often over complicated or within badly structured sites an so I took it upon myself to change all that. Enjoy
